If you’re afraid to sit alone with yourself for more than a day, you should really do some self-reflection and ask yourself why. Why are you running away from yourself? What are you so afraid of? Are your own thoughts what scare you? What exactly are you trying to distract yourself from? These are all valid questions. If you’re afraid to sit alone with yourself, if the idea of sulking in your own body seems daunting to you, get inquisitive about it. Nobody should live in fear of themselves or be embarrassed about their own truth. You should be able to look in the mirror and say, “I am not perfect. I’ve made mistakes, but I hold myself accountable, and I am learning from them. I am a good person and also a work in progress. I see myself for who I really am, and I love who that is.” Nobody should live in fear of their own existence. For your body is your temple, your body is your home. You’re going to have to live with yourself until you’re buried in soil. So get comfortable with yourself. Get familiar with yourself. Get real with yourself. Love yourself. You are literally all you’ve got. Make sure that your existence isn’t worth running away from.
