Certified Creative Coach

B.A. in Women's Studies, Minor in English Literature

 â€‹

writer, dancer, creative director, and advocate.

Tavi is a nonbinary-queer writer, dancer, and creative director with more than a decade of professional experience working across multiple artistic disciplines. As a multifaceted creative, their work bridges storytelling, performance, and artistic direction, reflecting a deep commitment to self-expression, cultural awareness, and community engagement.

In 2023, Tavi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies, an academic journey that deepened their passion for Black women’s histories, queer histories, feminist thought, and community building. Their studies strengthened their dedication to amplifying marginalized voices and fostering spaces where creativity and identity intersect.

In 2026, Tavi obtained a certification in Life Coaching, which inspired them to launch their Creative Coaching practice. Through this work, Tavi provides mentorship and support to artists and aspiring creatives seeking guidance in their artistic journeys. Their coaching focuses on helping clients develop and solidify their personal brand, cultivate confidence, and gain access to the tools, strategies, and resources needed to succeed creatively.

As both a coach and a creative professional, Tavi approaches mentorship with empathy, insight, and a strong understanding of the challenges artists often face. They are deeply passionate about sharing the knowledge and experience they have gained throughout their career to help others grow, refine their craft, and move forward with clarity and confidence in their creative development.

In addition to their artistic and coaching work, Tavi is a dedicated community organizer who believes that access to resources is essential for creative empowerment. Having spent much of their professional journey working diligently to obtain opportunities and resources themselves, they are committed to ensuring that other artists—particularly those from marginalized communities—have access to the support, knowledge, and networks necessary to thrive.

Tavi's Dance History:

Octavia started dancing at Inspirations Dance Studio in 2002 at the age of five. They then continued their training at Power House Dance Studio and Dance Dimensions Performing Arts Center between 2005 and 2011. Over their seventeen-plus years of training and competitive dance, they have learned and competed in various styles of dance that include Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Musical Theater, and Acro. Octavia was heavily involved in their high school Dance Team at Murrieta Mesa High School, where they cultivated their leadership skills as head captain during their junior and senior year. They then moved on to Riverside City College’s collegiate Dance Team during their first year of college. Octavia very quickly realized that their true passion lies in sharing their knowledge through teaching dance. They have five years of experience teaching and choreographing, and specialize in Hip-Hop and Contemporary styles. Octavia has experience working both in a dance studio and an educational setting as a dance teacher. Their goal is always to help their students connect their bodies and emotions for confidence building and to convey those intersections through dance.
